About Us

We are Marian and Mark from Surrey in the UK.

My introduction to Samoyeds came in 1975 when a then boyfriend said he had a German Shepherd/Samoyed cross.  GS I knew, a Samoyed, I had no clue.  Off to the library I trotted to discover what type of dog this was.  (Remember that this was in the days before computers!)  The library couldn’t help me so the next stop was a pet store that carried breed books.
The minute I held the book in my hand and saw that smiling face and those gorgeous eyes, I lost my heart and knew this was the breed destined to be in my life.  In fact I was so enamoured I bought the book there and then.
It took thirteen years, 1988, before I got my first Samoyed, Sasha.  She was a twenty-one month old and a second hand Samoyed.   Her family got rid of her because they were expecting a second baby and were moving and couldn’t have her.
I had had other dogs in the intervening years, but Sasha was nothing like them.  I made mistakes with her, it was all a learning process for me.  But Sasha was very forgiving, and a very excellent teacher!
From the day I took Sasha on my commitment to the breed was complete.  As years passed I knew this was the only breed for me.

I’ve learned a lot about Samoyeds over the nineteen years, and I am still learning about them.  I do love the fact that we are showing Misha and have the ability to speak with other Samoyed owners.  They all have a richness of the breed to tell about.

I love to listen to breeders who have been in this breed for 20, 30, 40 years.  There is so much they can teach, so much they have seen and learned.
I love to listen to the new breeders and to hear what they are envisioning for the future.

Not a day goes by that I do not give thanks for the beautiful creature we call a Samoyed, especially one in particular named Misha.

Mark’s physical introduction to the breed came from Sasha and Bear when he met me.   When I told him I had Samoyeds he knew what they were.  Most people I had to explain what type, what they looked like, where they came from, what they were used for, etc.  But Mark knew all about them from having lived in Russia while his parents were posted there.  He knew them from old folk tales.

Sasha and Bear adored Mark from the first meeting.  I think I can safely say it was love at first sight from all three points of view!
He took them to his heart, and married not only me, but them as well.
Although he came into their lives when they were much older, I feel Mark gave them the best years and lifestyle of their lives.

Like me, Mark was bereft when both went to Rainbow Bridge.  We were in complete agreement, the next canine companion would be a Samoyed – of course.
Enter Misha, our very first Samoyed puppy experience.

Having fallen completely inder Misha's spell, we are learning about breeding deciding our next steps.

We believe that Misha would make an wonderful foundation bitch and are considering a breeding program.  Misha has been hipscored with excellent results.

This is a work in progress, so please stay turned for updates.
